Overview

Fidelity is one of the world’s largest investment companies and a long-established presence in the UK retail investment market. Their platform offers a broad range of funds, ETFs, and shares alongside strong research tools and a well-regarded regular investing service.

The fee structure

Fidelity charges a tiered percentage fee. For shares and ETFs in an ISA, there’s an annual cap. Funds are charged on a percentage basis.

Fidelity’s fees are generally lower than Hargreaves Lansdown but higher than the cheapest alternatives. It occupies a similar market position to AJ Bell: full-service at below-HL pricing.

Who is Fidelity best for?

Verdict

Fidelity is a solid choice for active fund investors. Less compelling for passive ETF investors (where InvestEngine or Vanguard offer better value) or for large portfolios (where ii’s flat fee wins). Use our calculator to compare at your portfolio size.
